Art
Aquatint is an intaglio printmaking technique, which is based in the etching, in order to create a variety of watercolor drawings or wash drawings.
Aquatint creates different colors and tones. The variation of the tone is controlled by the level of exposure, and the image is shaped by sections.
Process:
1. Start making etches on the metal plate.
"With an aquatint a porous ground of acid-resistant particles is used to cover of the areas of the metal plate. Heat is then used to fuse the particles to the plate. This allows the acid to bite away a fine grid of small dots into the plate as when the plate is dipped in an acid bath, the particles prevent bits of the surface from being eaten away." - http://sapergalleries.com/PicassoPrintmakingTechniques.html

2. Use resin.

3. Start to paint (with "stop-out varnish").

4. Leave the plate on acid in a determinated period of time.

5. Remove the stop-out varnish.

6. Add paint over it.
7. Print it.
